The Truitt Hall Conference room is found in Truitt Hall 101. It can seat 8-12 individuals and is designed for wireless connectivity only. This room has a Mac computer with a wireless keyboard and mouse and can stream content through an Apple TV, Roku Ultra, or AirMedia. 

How to Use: Base-Level Operations

  1. Turn on the TV using the Sony remote control.
  2. Press the button with the home Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon to access the main menu.
  3. To quickly change inputs, press the InputUploaded Image (Thumbnail) button, and use the arrows to navigate to the desired input tile (Computer, AirMedia, Apple TV, or Roku).
  4. Turn off the TV using the Sony remote control.

To Use Mac Computer

  1. Turn on the TV using the Sony TV remote.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon to access the input menu.
  3. Use the right arrow to select the Computer tile.
  4. Use the wireless keyboard and mouse to login to the computer with your Elon credentials.
    1. To use the Biamp camera/soundbar, launch Zoom, Teams, or any conferencing app you prefer.
    2. Select VBC 2500 as the camera.
    3. Select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Biamp Parlè VBC 2500) as the microphone and speaker.
    4. If control of the camera is needed, launch the Biamp Camera Control software from the desktop.

To Use Apple TV

  1. Turn on the TV using the Sony TV remote.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)  icon to access the input menu.
  3. Use the right arrow to select the Apple TV tile.
  4. Begin screen mirroring by connecting your Apple device using AirPlay.

 

To Use AirMedia

  1. Turn on the TV using the Sony TV remote.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon to access the input menu.
  3. Use the right arrow to select the AirMedia tile.
  4. Follow the prompts displayed on the TV screen and your personal device.
  5. Use the Crestron AirMedia application on your device to control your presentation.

 

To Use Roku/Streeme

  1. Turn on the TV by pressing the power button on the Roku remote.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the Roku remote to access the main menu for the Roku.
  3. Use the Roku remote to open the Streeme application and select the desired channel.

1.) TV (Sony)

 

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Use the Sony TV remote to turn on the TV.
  2. Use the Sony remote to change the input and volume.
    1. To adjust the volume, push up or down on the volume buttons on the left of the the remote.
    2. Press the black Mute button on the remote's left to mute and unmute the TV.
  3. Turn off the TV by pressing the power button on the Sony remote.

 

2.) Mac Computer (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the Sony remote.
  2. Press the right arrow until you reach Computer tile on the TV screen (highlighted in the image above). Select the application by pressing the round center button. 
  3. Use the provided wireless keyboard and mouse to login to the computer with your Elon credentials.
    1. If the keyboard and mouse are not responding, check the toggle switch on the top right corner of the keyboard and the top right quadrant on the back of the mouse.
  4. When finished, log off the computer and turn off the TV using the Sony remote.

 

*Note: If the computer is not displaying when the input is selected, make sure it is powered on by pressing the power button (circled below) on the computer located behind the lower left side of the screen.

3.) Parlè (Biamp)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Use the Sony TV remote to turn on the TV.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the remote.
  3. Move the highlighted option to Source by pressing left on the outer circle of the Sony remote.
  4. Select Computer and press the center button for OK.
  5. Log on to the computer using your Elon username and password.
    1. If the computer is not on, press the power button on the computer located behind the left side of the TV.
  6. Open Zoom, Teams, or any other web conferencing software you’d like to use.
    1. Select VBC 2500 as the camera.
    2. Select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (Biamp Parlè VBC 2500) as the microphone and speaker.
  7. When the web conference is finished, log off of the computer.
  8. Turn off the TV using the power button on the Sony remote.
 
Biamp Camera Control

The Biamp Camera Control software offers controls for the camera, microphone, and speaker. It can be launched from the desktop icon.

  1. Find the Biamp icon on the desktop and double-click.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. The Biamp application allows for control of white balancing and framing. Both are configured to adjust automatically; however, the setting can be toggled on or off.

4.) AirMedia (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Use the Sony TV remote to turn on the TV.
  2. Access AirMedia; see options for accessing AirMedia below.
  3. When the AirMedia screen is presented, enter the IP address in the bottom left of the screen into a web browser on your personal device or enter in the IP address directly to the AirMedia software on your device.
    1. If you have not used AirMedia before, you must download the software onto your device. Follow the prompts on your screen, which loads after you enter the IP address into your browser.
  4. The software will ask for a room code. This is a 4-digit code on the bottom left side of the display screen, next to the IP address.
  5. Once you begin presenting, you can use the Crestron AirMedia application on your device to control your presentation.
  6. To stop presenting, click the disconnect button.
  7. Turn off the TV using the power button on the Sony remote.
Accessing AirMedia:
  1. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the Sony remote.
  2. Press the right arrow until you reach AirMedia tile on the TV screen (highlighted in the image above). Select the application by pressing the round center button.

 

5.) Apple TV (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions

Turning on Apple TV:
  1. Use the Sony TV remote to turn on the TV.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the Sony remote. 
  3. Press the right arrow until you reach Apple TV tile icon on the TV screen (highlighted in the image above). Select the application by pressing the round center button.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin screen mirroring using AirPlay.
 
Using Apple TV for Screen Mirroring (AirPlay):

Screen mirroring to the Apple TV is available for Apple products such as Mac computers, iPhones, and iPads.

  1. Find the screen mirroring button on your personal device.
  2. Select Truitt Hall 101 as the device you wish to screen mirror to.
  3. Enter in the four-digit passcode, which displays on the TV screen, into your device.
  4. For screen mirroring iPhones, the display will only be full screen if you rotate your phone and are within an app where rotation is allowed.

*Note: If a device is presenting and another device attempts to screen mirror to this device, the new device will override the currently presenting device.

6.) Roku

Basic Operating Instructions

Turning on the Roku Option 1:
  1. Use the Roku remote to turn on the TV.
  2. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the Roku remote to access the main menu for the Roku.
  3. Use the Roku remote to navigate to the desired application.
Turning on the Roku Option 2:
  1. Press the button with the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) icon on the Sony remote. 
  2. Press the right arrow until you reach Roku tile icon on the TV screen. Select using the round center button.
  3. Ensure the Roku is on by pressing the Uploaded Image (Thumbnail) button on the top right of the Roku remote.
  4. Use the volume up and down buttons on the right side of the Roku remote to adjust the volume. There is also a mute button on the right side of the Roku remote.
  5. Press the power button on the Roku control to turn off the Roku. This will also turn off the TV.
Streeme TV Instructions
  1. Use the arrow buttons on the Roku remote to navigate to, and then select, the Streeme TV application tile.
    1. Inside Streeme, a list of live channels is displayed.
    2. To select a certain channel, use the arrow keys to highlight a channel, then press the “OK” button.
    3. To go back to the channel information screen, press the back button.
    4. To return to the channel list from the channel information screen, press the back button again.
