Activate and Renew Your SPSS License

**This document is intended for use by faculty only.

** Initial installs of SPSS must be done through CTS.

Microsoft Windows

For SPSS 26 -

1. In the Start Menu, Select All Programs.
2. In the list of programs, open the folder called IBM SPSS Statistics 26.
3. Choose IBM SPSS Statistics License Authorization Wizard.
4. The License Authorization Wizard should display the License Status window, which shows the authorization status for all detected SPSS components. Click Next.
5. On the Product Authorization window, select the button next to Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product). Click Next.
6. At the “Enter Codes” screen, enter the new activation code. The activation code for version 26 can be found here. 
7. If successful, the installer should report "Successfully processed all codes." Click Next.
8. Click Finish. You have now completed the installation and license the authorization of your new SPSS software.

For SPSS 28 -

1. Launch IBM SPSS.
2. Click on the File menu and choose Manage License.
3. Choose Launch License Wizard.
4. At the License Status screen, click Next.
5. On the Product Authorization window, select the button next to Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product). Click Next.
6. At the “Enter Codes” screen, enter the new activation code. The activation code for version 28 can be found here. Click Add and Next.
7. If successful, the installer should report "Successfully processed all codes." Click Next.
8. Click Finish. You have now completed the installation and license the authorization of your new SPSS software.

For SPSS 29 -

1. Launch IBM SPSS.
2. Click on the File menu and choose Manage License.
3. Choose Launch License Wizard.
4. At the License Status screen, click Next.
5. On the Product Authorization window, select the button next to Authorized user license (I purchased a single copy of the product). Click Next.
6. At the “Enter Codes” screen, enter the new activation code. The activation code for version 29 can be found here. Click Add and Next.
7. If successful, the installer should report "Successfully processed all codes." Click Next.
8. Click Finish. You have now completed the installation and license the authorization of your new SPSS software.

Mac OSX

For Elon owned computers -

      1. Open the Self Service application located in the /Applications folder.

      2. Next search for the SPSS Renew License Tool as shown below.

      3. Click run, while this is running you should receive a notification that your current version of SPSS has been re-activated.

 

Manual Method

1. Open the SPSS Statistics License Authorization Wizard. By default, this is installed in /Applications/IBM SPSS Statistics (Note: Replace “28” with “26” if you’re using version 26 of SPSS)
2. At the License Status screen, click Next.
3. "Authorized user license” should be selected. Click Next.
4. At the “Enter Codes” screen, enter the new activation code. The activation code for version 26 can be found here. The activation code for version 28 can be found here.
5. The authorization should be successful. Select Next.
6. Select Finish to close the License Authorization Wizard.
