Roll Call Attendance is Canvas' built-in tool for taking attendance in your course. This article discusses how to enable Roll Call Attendance to your course.
*Please note that Roll Call Attendance does not have a student self-report option.


How do I enable Roll Call Attendance in my Canvas course?

Roll Call Attendance is available via the Attendance tab in the course navigation pane on the left side of the window. If you do not see Attendance listed in the course navigation pane, you will need to enable it. To enable Roll Call Attendance in your course, open your course and navigate to Settings at the bottom of the course navigation pane.

In the Settings area, select the Navigation tab at the top of the window.

Locate Attendance in the course navigation list. It may be disabled for your course. If it is disabled, you can enable it by dragging to the enabled list at the top of the window, or clicking the three dots to the right and selecting Enable.

Make sure you select Save to save your navigation settings.
