Create a Poll in Webex

When you are hosting a Webex meeting, you can create polls to gather feedback, take votes, or test knowledge from participants.

Create a Poll on Windows

1) In a Webex Meeting, select ‘View’, then ‘Panels’, then ‘Manage Panels’.

 

2) On the Manage Panels page, select ‘Polling” from the available panels and click ‘Add’ to add it to your current panels.

 

3) The Polling panel will now appear on the right side of your screen.

 

4) To create a new question, select the appropriate question type from the drop-down list in the Question section, then click ‘New’.

  • Short Answer: participants can type in a short answer response
  • Multiple Choice – Multiple Answers: participants can select multiple responses from a list of possibilities
  • Multiple Choice – Single Answer: participants select one response from a list of possibilities

 

5) A textbox will appear under the Poll Questions section, type the question into the textbox, and press enter.

 

6) Beneath the question, a textbox will appear to type answers. Type each answer, then press enter to add another answer.

  • Short Answer questions will only allow you to enter one answer that will serve as the correct answer.

 

7) Repeat steps 4-6 to add additional questions.

 

8) When you’ve added all questions, select ‘Open Poll’ to send the questionnaire to participants.

 

9) To save the poll for use in a later meeting, click the ‘Save’ icon at the top of the panel.

  • You can create a poll ahead of time and save it, then open it in a meeting by clicking the ‘Open’ icon.

 

10) After the poll closes, you can save results by clicking the ‘Save’ icon.

  • You will also be prompted to save questions and results when you start a new poll or close the meeting.

 

Create a Poll on Mac

1) In a Webex Meeting, select ‘View’, then ‘Panels’, then ‘Manage Panels’.

 

2) On the Manage Panels page, select ‘Polling” from the available panels, and click ‘Add’ to add it to your current panels.

 

3) The Polling panel will now appear on the right side of your screen.

 

4) To create a new question, click the ‘Add a Question’ icon and select the appropriate question type from the drop-down list in the Question section of the panel.

  • Short Answer: participants can type in a short answer response

  • Multiple Choice – Multiple Answers: participants can select multiple responses from a list of possibilities

  • Multiple Choice – Single Answer: participants select one response from a list of possibilities

 

5) To add answer possibilities, click the ‘Add an Answer’ icon.

 

6) Repeat steps 4-5 to add additional questions.

 

7) When you’ve added all questions, select ‘Open Poll’ to send the questionnaire to participants.
