All Elon University faculty and staff are provided with two Elon accounts:
- Elon Account - This account manages email, Moodle, network storage, campus computers, the wireless network, etc.
- OnTrack Account - Access course schedules, rosters, pay stubs, pay history, and more.
Your Elon and OnTrack accounts will always have the same user names. Initially, the passwords for these accounts will be the same. However, your Elon Account password and OnTrack password are managed separately. To learn more about managing your account, click one of the links below.
Obtaining your account information
- Visit Human Resources to complete all required paperwork.
- Allow at least 2 full business days for processing
- Visit or contact the Technology Service Desk
- Phone: 336-278-5200
- Location: 114 W. Lebanon Avenue (Parallel to the train tracks beside Subway)
- An associate will verify your identity, then provide your account information
- Enroll in the password management site
Managing your accounts
Note: The Elon Account and OnTrack account are managed independently. Therefore, updating your password for either will not affect the other.
Contact the Technology Service Desk if you require assistance managing any of your online accounts. For your security, the Service Desk may only communicate account related information either in person or by phone (336-278-5200). The location is 114 W. Lebanon Avenue, parallel to the train tracks, and beside Subway.

Campus Technologies will never ask you for your password in an email.
If you receive an email message asking you to verify account information or to take action to avoid loss of email service, delete the email. These messages are merely an attempt to lure you into revealing personal information to identity thieves. NEVER respond to messages asking you for your email password or email your password to anyone! Any legitimate communication from Information Technology regarding email accounts will be delivered through multiple channels including E-Net and campus mail. All legitimate messages will also include a campus telephone number (usually 278-5200) that you may call to verify the authenticity of the message. |
