Using AnyConnect for Colleague VPN

The instructions below outline using Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (VPN) to access Colleague (Elon's ERP system).

Need access to your network or departmental storage drive off-campus?  Install AnyConnect, then follow the instructions under the "Directions" section of the Remote Access and VPN page. You must disconnect from the old VPN client in order for AnyConnect to work properly.

If you need off-campus Colleague access, you must first be granted permission before using the off-campus Colleague VPN profile, located on the Installing AnyConnect page.

With multi-factor authentication (MFA) using DUO Security, you only have a few seconds to approve the authentication request using your preferred device or your login will fail. For more information and step-by-step help to set up MFA devices, visit the MFA Enrollment Guide.

Due to a configuration change, your full Elon email address (e.g., username@elon.edu) must be used to log into Colleague VPN. This is noted in the steps below.

Using AnyConnect in Windows

These instructions cover how to log into the Colleague VPN using AnyConnect on a Windows device. In order to proceed, you must first install the AnyConnect on your PC.

The DUO Mobile application makes it easy to authenticate. Just tap "Approve" on the login request sent to your mobile device. You can also quickly generate login passcodes, even without an internet connection or cell service. Since mobile device applications change frequently, please review the documentation appropriate to your device from DUO Security's website:

1.) Launch AnyConnect.

2.) Choose Colleague VPN (On Campus) from the drop-down menu, then select 'Connect.' If you did not install the profiles, enter gold.elon.edu in the drop-down field, then select 'Connect.'

Trying to access Colleague off-campus? Select Colleague VPN (Off campus) or enter maroon.elon.edu in the drop-down field, then select 'Connect.'

Trying to access network/departmental shares? Enter webvpn.elon.edu in the drop-down field, then select 'Connect.'
