Validating Your Phone for E-Alert

Steps to validate your mobile phone

We ask you to validate your phone number so unwanted spam is not sent to your phone. Your information is kept safe within the E-Alert system and we do not share it with anyone. Please note that to sign up for E-Alert, your phone must be capable of receiving text messages. While the E-Alert service is free, you may be charged to receive messages based upon your mobile phone service provider

  1. Make sure your mobile phone is turned on and login to E-Alert at
  2. Click on the Manage Your Account link at the right.
  3. Log in with your E-Alert username and password (this may or may not be the same as your Elon email).
  4. Once you are logged in, click on the Services tab.
  5. Under the SMS section, you should see your phone number and a link that says Validate Now. Click the Validate Now link.
  6. After clicking the link, the web page will change to a page that asks you to enter your validation code.
  7. Within a few seconds you should receive a text message on your mobile phone containing your validation code.
  8. Open the text message and enter the 4-digit code on the web page in the validation code field and click Validate.
  9. The web page will change to say "You have successfully signed up!" 

That's it! Your mobile phone is ready to receive E-Alerts. You can now close your web browser. 

The Technology Service Desk cannot look up user information. E-Alert users must follow the forgot password link on the login page.
