Zoom Integration with Moodle

Summary

Zoom can be integrated with Moodle so you can manage all of your classroom Zoom activities from one Spot. With this integration you can schedule meetings, accessing recordings, share your meetings to your Moodle calendar, and begin instant meetings.

Zoom and Moodle

Zoom and Moodle are integrated, offering you additional functionality. This integration gives instructors the following functionality:

  • Schedule and manage meetings
  • Start of join meetings
  • View upcoming meetings
  • View and manage previous meetings and recordings

It also allows students to do the following:

  • View upcoming meetings
  • Join meetings
  • View previous meetings and recordings

Please note that currently the integration is unable to use pre-assigned breakout rooms if scheduled within Moodle. Any Zoom meetings scheduled outside of your Moodle course will not show up on the Moodle calendar.

Create a Zoom Activity in Moodle

  • Make sure editing is on in your Moodle course

  • Click "Add an Activity or Resource" in the section/topic 
  • Scroll down to find "Use External Tool" and click

  • Find "Zoom", scroll down and click "Save and Display"

Navigating the Zoom Menu

When you click on the Zoom activity you created you will see a Zoom interface within Moodle. From this interface you can perform the following tasks:

  • Upcoming Meetings
    • Meetings that you have scheduled with Zoom within Moodle will appear here. 
    • You can start any meeting early or delete a meeting
  • Previous Meetings
    • A list of your previous meetings
  • Personal Meeting Room
    • This is a link to your personal meeting room (tied to your personal ID)
    • Here you can start an instant meeting if you need to
  • Cloud Recordings
    • Access to your previous recordings
