Retrieve transcripts within Kaltura

Summary

Step-by-step tutorial on how to save your own copy of a transcript from a Kaltura video.

Body

Transcripts are a helpful enhancement to student learning as they provide a ready-made set of notes to access whilst watching Kaltura content. Note that transcripts should already be visible. The process described below will walk through how to download a transcript for annotation/mark-up.

Retrieve Transcript

  • Log into Moodle and access the video of the desired transcript

  • The transcript is encapsulated in a light grey box. Along the top of the box are two buttons. The button on the left allows you to download a .txt file of the transcript. You can upload this file along with your video so that students may have a copy to download.

  • A copy of the transcript will download to your computer. You should now be able to view the file and annotate.
