Room Summary
This flexible classroom is located on the second floor of Belk Pavilion that can seat 20 people. It includes three projectors, rolling tables, and rolling chairs to support various classroom arrangements.
How to Use Room: Base Level Operations
- Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
- The second monitor will come on automatically with the first
- Login with your Elon username and password.
- To wake up the touch panel, tap the Elon Logo.
- Select the 'Typical Classroom' button and wait for the system to start up, this will take about 30 seconds.
- Select one of the tabs to switch inputs between Computer, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX.
- To turn off the system, select the 'System Off' button located in the upper right hand corner of the touch panel, this will take 1:30 minutes.
- Turn off the computer by clicking the Power Off option in the Start Menu.

1.) Touch Panel (Crestron)
Basic Operating Instructions
- To wake up the touch panel, tap the screen.
- Tap the Elon logo and select the 'Typical Classroom' button and wait 30 seconds for the system to start up.
- Choose from one of the tabs on the top of the screen to switch inputs between computer, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX.
Computer Instructions
- Automatically the Desktop button will be pressed connecting with the desktop's visuals and audio to the projectors.
- Select the Laptop - VGA button to connect your device to the projectors with the provided VGA cable.
- Select the Laptop - DVI button to connect your device to the projectors with the provided DMI cable.
- Select the Wall Input to connect your device to the projector.
This cord is not provided in the room so you will need to contact Media Services in order to obtain it.
DVD Instructions
- Press the Power button located on the left of the DVD player to turn it on, and the eject button on the right to open the disc drive.
- Insert your DVD and press the eject button.
- Press the Play button to start the DVD.
- Press the Pause button to momentarily stop the DVD.
- Press the FWD or REW button to quickly move forward or backwards through the DVD.
- Press the FTRK or BTRK button to navigate the scenes of the DVD.
- Press the Menu button for more option to control the DVD.
- Press the Eject button to remove the disc from the DVD player.
- Press the Select button to chose specific controls for the disc.
- Press the up, down, left, and right arrows to navigate the menu options for the disc.
VCR Instructions
- Press the power button located on the left of the VCR and insert your VHS tape.
- Press the Play button to start the VCR.
- Press the Pause button to momentarily stop the VCR.
- Press the Stop button to stop the VCR.
- Press the FWD or REW button to quickly move forward or backwards through the VCR.
- Press the Eject button to remove the tape from the VCR player.
- Press the up and or arrow to change the channel of the tape.
CD Instructions
- Press the Play button to start the CD.
- Press the Pause button to momentarily stop the CD.
- Press the FWD or REW button to quickly move forward or backwards in a song on the CD.
- Press the FTRK or BTRK button to change the songs of the CD.
- Press the Eject button to remove the CD from the CD player.
AUX Instructions
- Follow the screen for instructions on how to connect your device to the projectors.
Advanced Features
This room features three projectors, which can be used in the 'CATL Classroom' setup. This will allow you to route different sources to different projectors.
- To wake up the touch panel, tap the screen.
- Tap the Elon Logo and select the 'CATL Classroom' button and wait 30 seconds for the system to start up.
- Once the home screen pops up, select a projector on the left side of the Crestron control panel in order to access the different inputs.
- At the input page, select one of the eight options to control the projector such as:
- The Desktop input which controls the main desktop computer.
- The Extended desktop input which displays the desktop to the right of the main desktop.
- Select the VGA tab to connect your device to the projector using the provided VGA cable.
- Select the DVI tab to connect your device to the projector using the provided DVI cable.
If your device does not have a VGA or DVI port, you will need an adapter in order to connect your device to the projector.
- Select the Wall Input tab to connect your device to the projector.
This cord is not provided in the room so you will need to contact media services in order to obtain it.
- Select the AUX tab to connect your device to the projector using the provided AUX cable.
- To view the DVD, select the DVD input to display the DVD onto the projector.
- Select the DVD tab in order to control the DVD player.

- To view the VCR, select the VCR input to display the VCR on the projector.
- Select the VCR tab in order to control the VCR player.

- Select the image mute button in order to mute the projector screen.
- Select the return button if you wish to return to the home page.
- Select the screen control tab to raise and lower individual screens.
2.) Projector (Canon)
- To wake up the system, tap the Crestron touch panel.
- Tap the Elon Logo on the screen and select the Typical Classroom button and wait for the system to start up.
- On the Typical Classroom setting, choose an input from the one of the tabs to switch modes from computer, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX.

- Once on the CATL Classroom home page, select a projector on the left side of the Crestron control panel in order to access the different inputs.
- At the input page, select one of the eight options to control the projector.
