This room serves as a media presentation space, with seating available for up to 60 people. Room 103 also includes an equipment closet (103A) which houses classroom technology and handheld microphones.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 40 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Cynap, Laptop or Blu-ray DVD, wired/wireless Mic).
  PC inputs are located in the table top cable cubby (VGA, HDMI, ethernet, auxiliary). XLR Microphone inputs are located in the wallplate below the touch panel or in the wallplate located to the left of the last row of seating.

       3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Press the power button on the touch panel to turn on the system. The system will take 40 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Cynap, Laptop or Blu-ray DVD, wired/wireless Mic).
  3. Press the image mute button to freeze the image displayed by the projector. Press it again to unfreeze.
  4. To turn the system off, press the power button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

Cynap Wireless Presentation System Instructions

 

  1. Pressing the Cynap button in the top left corner of the touch panel will project connection instructions on the screen
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect via network OR connect via screen sharing if your device is capable.
  3. To present with a computer running Windows 10 or 11, use the keyboard shortcut (windows key+K) to bring up the connection menu, then select your display (GlobalCommons-103) from the list.
  4. To present with an Apple device, you can use either screen mirroring (by pressing ) or AirPlay (by pressing ).  Screen mirroring will duplicate your entire screen, whereas AirPlay will only display selected media.
  5. To present with an Android device or a chromebook, open Google Chrome, click the three dots () in the top right corner, then click cast.

Laptop or Blu-ray Instructions

 

  1. The Blu-ray player for Room 103 can be checked out from Room 101 next door.
  2. To connect a laptop or the Blu-ray player, plug the device into the system using the cable cubby in the top of the cabinet or the Crestron wall plate in the back row of seats.
  3. Turn on the touch panel and press the 'Laptop or Blu-ray DVD' button.
  4. Select the appropriate input type and location (ex: if you plugged your laptop into the HDMI in the cable cubby, select 'HDMI/DVD Front Room').

Wired Microphone Instructions

  

  1. There may be a wired microphone in the cabinet. If not, microphones are avaiable for checkout at Media Services.
  2. To use a wired microphone, press the Wired Mics button on the touch panel.
  3. Next, plug your microphone into one of the two XLR input wall plates, pictured above. One wall plate is located below the touch panel, the other in the back row of seats.
  4. Use the touch panel controls to adjust volume and mute your microphone as necessary.
  5. To utilize two wired microphones, plug one into each XLR plate.

Wireless Microphone Instructions

  

  1. There may be wireless microphones in the equipment closet (103A). If not, microphones are available for checkout from Media Services.
  2. To use a wireless microphone, press the wireless mics button on the touch panel.
  3. Next, turrn on your wireless microphone and match your group and channel to one of the Shure ULXP4 Receivers (pictured above) mounted in the equipment closet.
  4. Use the touch panel controls to adjust volume and mute your microphone as necessary.
  5. To utilize two wireless microphones, match your second microphone to the second Shure ULXP4 Receiver.

2.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 40 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Cynap, Laptop or Blu-ray DVD, wired/wireless Mic).
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the power button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

 

3.) Web Camera (Avaya)

7.) Light Switch (Lutron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Select appropriate lighting option from either light panel (ALL ON, PRESENT, ALL 50%, MOVIE, PRESENT 2, PRESENT 3, ALL OFF)
  2. To turn all room lights off after use, press ALL OFF.

 

8.) Shade Switch

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. To raise the shades located on the wall opposite the projector screen, select UP on the shade control panel.
  2. To lower shades, select DOWN on the shade panel control.
  3. Shades can be set partially up/down by pressing the up or down arrow on the switch and once the desired height has been reached, move the switch to the neutral middle location.
  Shades are typically already lowered for room operation
