Room Summary
Located on the first floor of Schar Hall, Schar 109 is a conference room equipped with a table, rolling chairs, multiple conference calling programs, desktop computer, wireless mouse and keyboard, and a TV display.
How to Use Room: Base Level Operations
- Tap the Crestron touch panel to turn on the TV.
- On the Crestron touch panel, tap the desktop tab on the panel.
- Login to the PC with your Elon username and password.
- To turn off the system, tap the power button and tap, "Yes, power down."

1.) TV Display (Sharp)
Basic Operating Instructions
- Tap the touch panel to turn on the system.
- Select the input that you want to display on the touch panel controller.
- Tap the power button on the top right of the touch panel to turn off the system.
2.)Touch Panel Control (Crestron)
Basic Operating Instructions
- Tap the touch panel to turn on the system.
- Select the input that you want to display on the TV.
- Tap the power button on the top right of the touch panel to turn off the system.
Phone Instructions
- Press the "Phone" tab on the Crestron touch panel.
- Dial the number 8 followed by the number you would like to call and press the green call button.
- To start a conference call, you have to be calling one person on Line 1, then switch to Line 2.
- Dial the number 8 followed by the number you want and click on the "Call" button.
- Click on the "Conference" button to start a conference call between the two numbers.
Desktop Instructions
- Press the Desktop Computer tab which is located in the bottom left cabinet in the front of the room.
- Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.
- There is a wireless keyboard and mouse that is usually located at the front of the room on the counter near the touch panel.
- Log into the desktop using your Elon email and password.
DVD Instructions
- The DVD/Blu-Ray player is located in the bottom left cabinet in the front of the room.
- Insert your DVD to the player.
- Tap the DVD tab on the touch panel.
- It will display the DVD controller button.
- Use the buttons displayed on the touch panel to control the DVD player.
AirMedia Instructions
- Select the "AirMedia" option on the touch panel.
- A screen similar to the one shown below will be projected.
- Go the URL displayed at the top of the screen, it will take you to a page that looks similar to the one below.
- If you have not used AirMedia before in this room, download it by clicking on the respective buttons.
- Once you have downloaded it, locate it in your download folder and then open it.
- A small panel will appear on your device with an input box.
- Type in the Room Code that is projected at the bottom left of the projected screen into the input box on your device.
- Press the "Connect" button, and your device screen will appear on the projected screen.
- To stop presenting, click on the disconnect button.

3.) Desktop Computer
- Make sure that the Crestron system is on.
- Select Desktop on the touch panel.
- The desktop is located in the cabinets below the monitor.
- If the desktop does not turn on with the Crestron system, turn on the machine in the cabinet by pressing the power button located on the right.
- Once the desktop is turned on the system should display the login screen.
- Use the wireless keyboard and mouse (located on the counter at the front of the room) to control the PC.
- Once turned on sign in using you Elon username and password
4.) Laptop Connectivity
Basic Operating Instructions for HDMI
- Make sure that the Crestron system is on.
- Select HDMI on the touch panel.
- Plug your device in using the HDMI cord located next to the touch panel.
- Ensure that your device is on.
