How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the bottom right of the monitor.
  2. Turn on the touch panel controller by tapping the panel. It will take about 30 seconds to warm up.
  3. Log into the computer using your Elon username and password.
  4. Select your desired input using the touch panel controller.
  5. Turn off the computer by going into the start menu in the bottom left corner of the desktop screen and selecting Shut Down.
  6. Turn off the touch panel controller by tapping the power button located on the top right of the panel.

1.) Desktop (Dell)

The Dell desktop

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of both computer monitors.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

 

2) Touch Panel Controller (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.

    1. Computer inputs are built into the control panel and automatically connect to the laptop.

    2. DVD can be played with the Sony player located in the equipment rack in the instructor's station.

    3. CD can be played by the Sony player located in the equipment rack in the instructor's station.

    4. LD can be displayed using the Pioneer LaserDisc player located in equipment rack in the instructor's station.

    5. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.

  2. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

4.) Projector (NEC)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, LD, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table side of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

Additional Room Features

  1. Installed in the top of the Instructor's Station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1) VGA and 2) Aux.
