Mobile kit for Francis Center
The apple tv and black box system make it possible to have two inputs and change which one is being displayed. It also gives people the chance to connect their devices to the Apple TV system through Airplay in order to use it as a presentation system. These are the set up instructions for both @dpt1 and @dpt2 Apple TVs.
How to set up the system
Apple TV
- Connect the power cord to the apple tv device
- Connect power cord to a power outlet
- A light should turn on to indicate that the device is receiving power
- Connect an HDMI cord to the apple tv device.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cord to the Black Box in the Input 1 slot
Black Box
- Connect the power cord to the Black Box device.
- Connect the power cord to a power outlet.
- Connect the monitor to the Black Box by connecting the monitor's HDMI cord via the Output slot.
- Connect the second device to the Black Box via the Input 2 slot.
- To move between the two inputs use the button on the lower right hand corner.
- Ensure that the EDID switch at the top of the Black box with the HDMI inputs is switched to 1
- Ensure that the switch on the other side of the device is also at 1
How to use the Airplay system
- Ensure that the Black Box is switched to Input 1.
- On the device that will be projecting to the monitor go to system preferences, then Displays and select the Airplay device (@dpt1 or @dpt2).
- A code will appear on the monitor
- Use that code to connect to the Airplay system by typing it into the bar that appears on your device.
