From a computer, follow the instructions below to add an email as an attachment to another email. These instructions can be used in any scenario but are especially useful when reporting a phishing attempt to infosec@elon.edu.
From Gmail
- Open the email you would like to add as an attachment
- Click the three dots in the top right corner of the email
- Click "Show Original"
- Click "Download Original" in the bottom left of the header that appears
- Create a new email or reply to an email
- Click the paperclip icon in the bottom pane
- Select the email you would like to add as an attachment
From O365/OWA
- Create a new email or reply to an email
- From the pane on the left, click and drag the email you would like to add as an attachment
- Drop this attachment into the body of the new email
From Outlook
- Create a new email or reply to an email
- From the pane on the left, click and drag the email you would like to add as an attachment
- Drop this attachment into the body of the new email
OR
- Create a new email or reply to an email
- Under the "Message" tab at the top, choose "Attach Item" - "Outlook Item"
- Select the email you would like to add as an attachment
