Resetting Your OnTrack Password

1.) Visit ontrack.elon.edu

2.) To reset your password, click the appropriate option from the main OnTrack form

3.) Choose the 'Reset my password' option

You can find this located at the bottom-left of the main OnTrack form or the bottom of the Log In form.

4.) Fill out the 'Reset my password' form

You are required to enter your:

  • Elon username (make sure it is lowercase)
  • University ID or last 4 digits of your social
  • Birthdate

5.) Enter your email address on record with Elon University to receive a temporary password and click 'Submit'

6.) After hitting 'Submit' on the form above, you will receive a confirmation form, as well as an email with the temporary password in it

This is an image confirming that you have requested a password reset as well as additional instructions you will see when resetting your password.

7.) Click the 'Please Log In to Continue' option at the bottom of the form to take you to the log in form

You can also choose the 'Log In' option on one of the main pages.

8.) Enter your Elon username and the temporary password you received in the email

Make sure your Elon username is lowercase.
 

9.) After logging in with your temporary password, set up your new password

The password must be 8 to 24 characters in length. It must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. It can contain the following characters !,#,$, and %, but they are not required. Spaces should not be used.

You will receive a 'Reset Error' message if you incorrectly enter any information in the following fields:

  • Username
  • University ID/Last four digits of your social security number
  • Birthdate
  • Email on Record

If you receive the 'Reset Error' message, please go through and check to ensure that you have properly entered your information. If the problem persists, please contact Campus Technology Support at 336-278-5200.

10.) Congratulations! You have reset your OnTrack password.
