Using AnyConnect VPN Client

The instructions below outline using the AnyConnect VPN client to access Colleague (Elon's ERP system). If you find yourself asking, "What is Colleague?" install the AnyConnect client and then following the instructions under the "Directions" block of the Remote Access and VPN page.

  • You must disconnect from the old VPN client in order for AnyConnect to work properly.
  • Need access to your network or departmental storage drive off-campus? Instead of using the Off-Campus VPN profiles, enter webvpn.elon.edu into the connection field instead. Select 'AnyConnect' as the group and enter your email username and password as prompted. This is only applicable if accessing network drives off-campus. This does not apply to off-campus Colleague Access.
  • If you need off-campus Colleague access, you must be granted permission and you will utilize the off-campus VPN profile located on the Installing AnyConnect page.
You only have a few seconds to approve the request from your mobile device. You must have your mobile device handy and be ready to accept notifications, otherwise your login will fail.

Due to a configuration change, your full Elon email address (e.g., username@elon.edu) must currently be used to log into VPN. This is noted in the steps below.
