How to Grade Using Single View

One way to quickly grade in Moodle is to either grade all activities for a specific student or to grade all student work for a specific activity. Using single view allows you to do this. Follow the simple steps below to use single view.

1.) In the left column of your Moodle course, click 'Grades'

  • To grade all activities for a specific student, start at Step 2.
  • To grade all students for a specific activity, start at Step 5.

 

2.) Click 'Single view' in the tab options

3.) To grade all activities for a specific student, choose the student's name from the 'Select user...' drop-down menu

4.) Your page will refresh and you will see all of the grade items for that specific student

  • Enter in grades for the student and click the 'save' button when you are finished.
  • Within this view, instructors can also see if any grades are overridden or excluded.

5.) To grade all student work for a specific activity, choose the activity name from 'Select grade item...' drop down menu

6.) Your page will refresh and you will see all of your students listed for that particular assignment

  • On this screen, you can enter grades and feedback for your students. Click the 'Save' button when you have completed entering grades.

7.) On this screen, instructors can also perform a bulk insert of grades

  • This is helpful if instructors wish to give a grade of 0 to all students who did not submit work.
