If your office is relocating to a new or temporary location, please follow the steps below.
Technology
Computers and Related Peripherals:
If you have a laptop, take the laptop and its bag with you. Leave only the peripherals, such as monitors and keyboards, in your office.
First, verify that your files are backed up to OneDrive and that your backup is current. Then properly power down your computer and disconnect its cables. Label all large components, including laptops, monitors, printers, and scanners.
Pack your keyboard, mouse, speakers, and any small externally connected devices as you would any other item, and ensure the box is labeled.
Bundle all loose cables together. If possible, place them in a box; otherwise, secure them with string or rubber bands. Remember to label any loose bundles.
Once you arrive at your new location, reconnect your computer by reversing the steps above.
If you need assistance, please call the Technology Service Desk at (336) 278-5200.
Telephones:
If you are using Cisco Webex, there is no need to reconnect any hardware, as the WebEx application is already installed on your computer.
If you are using a Cisco IP phone, your phone number will remain the same. Please unplug your phone and place it in a properly labeled box. Once you move to your new location, you can reconnect the phone by reversing the steps above.
If you need assistance with reconnecting, please call the Technology Service Desk at (336) 278-5200.
Copiers:
To coordinate copier moves, please contact Campus Technology Support by calling the Technology Service Desk at (336) 278-5200. There is no need to disconnect or label any copier yourself.
