Located on the second floor of Schar Hall, this room serves as a lounge and collaborative work area. This space includes lounge chairs, rolling chairs, a white board, two Roku TVs, four desktop computers, and a student printing station.

1.) Roku TV (Sharp)

Basic Operating Instructions

  Numbers referenced in the instructions are referring to the numbers in the photos of the remote.

To turn on the TV, use the power button at the top-center of the remote (1).

  1. Once the TV is turned on, the Home screen is displayed.
  2. To navigate to other tabs, (Home, My Feed, Movie Store, TV Store, News, Search, Streaming Channels and Settings) use the up and down purple arrow keys, located below the back and home button, at the top of the remote (4), to scroll through the tabs.
  3. To navigate within a certain tab, either click the “OK” button located in the middle of the purple arrow keys (5) or click the right arrow key.
  4. To return the tabs view, click the back button located below the power button on the left side of the remote (3).
  5. To return to the Home screen at from any screen, press the home button located below the power button on the right side of the remote (2).
  6. To change the volume, use the volume buttons located on the right side, not on the face of the remote but on the side of the remote (8 and 9).
  7. To mute the volume, use the mute button located on the right side of the remote below the volume buttons (7).

Additional Features

Philo Instructions
  Philo is live TV, but instead of working through cable, it uses the internet.

Basic Instructions:

  1. Once the TV is on, use the purple arrow keys to navigate to the Home screen or press the home button.
  2. On the Home screen, use the purple arrows to select the Philo tile.
  3. Press the “OK” button to open the tile.
  4. Inside Philo, a list of live channels is displayed.
  5. To select a certain channel, use the arrow keys to highlight a channel, then press the “OK” button.
  6. A screen will display information about the channel and give a few options to select from (Play, Record, etc.).
  7. Use the arrow keys and “OK” button to select the desired option.
  8. To go back to the channel information screen, press the back button.
  9. To go back to the channel list from the channel information screen, press the back button again.

How to Search on Philo: 

  1. To search for channels and shows, press the * button, located below the purple arrow keys and to the right (6).
  2. On the Search screen, use the purple arrow keys and the "OK" button to type the name you are searching for.
  3. Use the down arrow key to navigate to the search button and click "OK".
  4. Press the right arrow key to navigate to the list of search results.
  5. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list.
  6. Press the "OK" button to open one of the search results.

Laptop and Other HDMI Device Instructions:
  1. Take the HDMI 1 cord, and plug it into the device you wish to display on the TV.
  2. On the TV, on the Home screen, use the purple arrow keys to select the HDMI 1 tile.
  3. Press the “OK” button to open the tile.
    If the HDMI cord is not plugged in all the way on the device or if the device isn’t on, the screen below will appear.

2.) Desktop Computer (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor.
  2. Once the computer is on, login using your Elon username and password.
  3. To turn off the computer click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and select either "Shut Down" or "Log Off."
