All Elon students are provided with an Elon Account that grants access to various resources, including email, the wireless network, campus computers, and more. Early undergraduate admits for the fall semester will receive notification that their Elon Account is ready to be activated by January 5. All other students should receive notification that their account is ready to be activated within 48 hours of enrollment.
Activating Your Elon Account
Once your Elon Account is ready for activation, you will be informed via a notification. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student, you will receive the notification in your Acorn Account where you'll see the Elon Account Activation as a checklist item. However, if you are a Law student, the notification will be emailed to you. Regardless of the communication method, you will receive an activation link and information to guide you through the process.
During the activation process, you will be prompted to set up a password for your Elon Account and you will be taken through the steps to enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA) via DUO Security. MFA is a layer of protection that adds extra security to Elon's secure websites. In addition to your Elon Account username and password, MFA also uses your phone to verify your identity. Please note that the account activation is incomplete until you reach the "Activation Complete!" screen. Simply follow all the screens to complete the activation process.
