When you receive your e-Connect iPad, apps will be loaded during the initial setup process. This is a list of those apps.

iPad User Guide
You can either visit Safari to read the User Guide, or you can download it directly to your iPad and access it from Books.
Download the user guide from Apple Books
- Open the Books app.
- Tap Search, then enter “iPad User Guide.”
- Tap Get, then wait for the book to download.
Books
Books allows you to read PDFs and ebooks from the Apple book store.
Calendar
The Apple calendar allows you to access your iCloud calendar. You can also add your Elon account here to see both personal and school calendars in one place.
Clips
You can create and share short videos in Clips.
Contacts
Contacts contains your iCloud contacts.
Files
Files is a file management app that allows you to save and access files on your iPad as well as to different cloud services (Microsoft OneDrive, iCloud Drive, DropBox, etc.).
Mail
The Mail app allows you to access your iCloud email, as well as link other email accounts including Gmail and your Elon Outlook account.
Messages
Messages is Apple’s text message application.
Notes
The Notes app allows you to create and share notes using text, images, video, voice, and web links.
Photos
You will find any photos you take on your iPad in the Photos app. If you have iCloud photo enabled, you might also see photos taken on other iOS devices.
Reminders
Reminders lets you setup to-do lists and assign dates and times to be reminded.
Safari
Safari is the native Apple web browser.

Pages
You can create and edit documents using Apple Pages. Keep in mind that if you’re going to submit Pages documents in assignments, you should save to either PDF or Microsoft Word format.

Outlook is your Elon email and calendaring app.
Teams
Teams is an app that allows you to collaborate in class and in group projects. You can chat with classmates, receive and share files, take notes, and have video meetings.
OneNote
OneNote allows you to take notes using images, text, video and audio. You can share notes with other classmates, and your instructors will share notes with you.

Microsoft Whiteboard is a digital whiteboard that you can use for collaborating in class or in group assignments.

Moodle Mobile
Moodle Mobile is one way you can access your courses in Moodle, the Learning Management System (LMS) at Elon. You can also access Moodle in the Safari or Chrome browsers.
Kahoot!
Kahoot! is an app that allows you to answer questions your instructor shares with you in a game-like format. You’ll receive game points for speed and accuracy.

A VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that can contain images, documents, and videos and allows students to leave comments using voice, text, audio file, or video.

Medscape
The Medscape app offers the latest medical news and expert commentary as well as drug and disease information, professional education, and CME/CE activities. You will need to create an account on Medscape to use the app.

AnyConnect
AnyConnect allows you to access the Elon Virtual Private Network (VPN) from off campus if an application requires it.
Duo Mobile
Elon University uses a multi-factor authentication method (MFA), Duo Security, for logging into some web applications.

AirMedia
You can use the AirMedia app to mirror your iPad to AirMedia-enabled projectors in some classrooms.
