Eduroam for Windows: Troubleshooting Installation or Connection Issues

If you’re unable to install or connect to Eduroam on a Windows device, try the steps below. These resolve the most common configuration, credential, and certificate issues.

1. Ensure You Are Using the Correct Username

Eduroam requires your full institutional email address, not your username.

Correct: username@elon.edu
Incorrect: username

Double-check for typos—Eduroam is sensitive to them.

2. Forget the Existing Eduroam Network

Sometimes Windows stores a corrupted or outdated profile.

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi
  2. Click Manage known networks
  3. Select eduroam
  4. Click Forget
  5. Reconnect to eduroam

3. Restart your computer

  1. Click on the Windows menu
  2. Select the Power icon and Restart
