Set Your Power and Screen Saver on a Windows Device

These instructions will point you to areas where you may change your power settings and your screen saver settings.

Power Settings

1.) Go to Start and select Settings > System > Power & sleep.

  • Under Screen, select how long you want your device to wait before turning the screen off when you're not using your device.
  • Under Sleep, select how long you want your device to wait before going to sleep when you’re not using it. 

2.) For more power-saving options, (on the right) select Additional power settings to change how your device uses power.

3.) Check that Balanced (recommended) is selected.

4.) Click Change plan settings.

Edit Plan Settings

  • Here, you can change the settings for when your display turns off and when your computer goes to sleep. We recommend turning the display off after 5 minutes of inactivity, and 15 minutes of inactivity before the computer goes to sleep.
  • Make sure to save your changes!

Personalize your Screen Saver

1.) Select the Start  button, then select Settings  

2.) Click Personalization

Choose your settings

1.) To set personal photos as your screen saver, from Personalization select Lock screen then Screen saver settings

2.) To further personalize these options, click Settings... and make the desired changes.
