Located on the second floor of Alamance, this space operates as collaborative classroom that can seat up to 26 people. This classroom includes 4 projectors, a desktop computer, AirMedia, and a touch panel controlling the entire room. This room is ideal for group work, discussions, and presentations as each projector in the classroom can display something different at the same time.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, AirMedia, Blu-ray, and AUX).
    Laptop/Device inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor
    The desktop computer in the room is the default computer.
  4. Login with your Elon username and password.
  5. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, AirMedia, Blu-ray, and AUX).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.Select the "YES Shut Down System" button to turn off the system.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

Laptop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Laptop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord (4).

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

Blu-ray Instructions

  1. The Samsung player is located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.
  2. Insert your Blu-ray into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display Blu-ray controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the Blu-ray player.

AUX Instructions

  1. Other devices can be connected via the composite input (2).

  2. Tap on AUX tab on the control panel.

  3. The touch panel will display the AUX device options.
    You need to bring your own connection for the alternative device that is going to be used.

2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the right side of the desktop.

  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop on the Touch Screen Control to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop screen).

3.) Projector (Canon)

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, AirMedia, Blu-ray, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

Advanced Operating Instructions

The four projectors found throughout the classroom have the ability to project different images from different inputs at the same time.

To make each a different input that you can choose:
  1. On the Crestron touch screen control, select Custom on the top of the screen, then tap the projector you want to select the input for and select the input (Desktop, Laptop, AirMedia, BluRay, or Aux).

  2. To display another input on a different projector, follow Step 1 after selecting a different input.
To make each projector project a different AirMedia
  1. Hit the Breakout button at the top of the touchscreen.

4.) AirMedia (Crestron)

AirMedia Instructions

  1. Select the "AirMedia" option on the touch panel.

  2. A screen similar to the one shown below will be projected.

  3. Go the URL displayed at the top of the screen, it will take you to a page that looks similar to the one below.

  4. If you have not used AirMedia before in this room, download it by clicking on the respective buttons.                                                                                                                       AirMedia download page
  5. Once you have downloaded it, locate it in your download folder and then open it.
  6. A small panel will appear on your device with an input box.
  7. Type in the Room Code that is projected at the bottom left of the projected screen into the input box on your device.
  8. Press the "Connect" button, and your device screen will appear on the projected screen.
  9. To stop presenting, click on the disconnect button.

Additional Room Features

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for Electrical (1), Composite for external devices (2), Audio (3), HDMI (4), and Ethernet (5).
