Located on the third floor of Alamance, the CUPID lab operates as a computer classroom that can seat up to 18 people. The lab space is designed with elliptical tables and large, shared LCD screens that promote collaborative work among students. This classroom includes 5 TVs, student computers, a projector, a printer, and a touch panel controlling the entire room.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the touch screen control power button to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, Cynap, and DVD).
    Laptop/Device inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn on the desktop monitor by pressing the power button on the back left of the monitor. 
  4. Login with your Elon username and password.
  5. Turn the system off by pressing the power button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, press the power button.

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Instructions

  1. Touch the power button located on the top right side of the touch panel to turn it on.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (desktop, laptop, Cynap, or DVD).

  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
  4. To switch into student breakout mode, press the student breakout button at the top of the screen and select which table and student to display.

  5. To turn the system off, press the power button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

DVD Instructions

  1. DVD can be played with the BluRay player located on the equipment rack in the work station.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.

  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.

 

2.) Desktop Computer (iMac)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the back left of the desktop.

  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop on the Touch Screen Control to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left side of the desktop screen).

 

3.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 15 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

 

4.) Web Camera (Avaya)

Additional Room Features

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for Electrical (1), Composite for external devices (2), VGA (3), Ethernet (4), Audio for VGA (5).
