Room Summary

Located on the first floor of Belk Pavilion, room 116 serves as a meeting room and features video conferencing capabilities.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Press the power button on the TV remote to turn the TV on.
  2. Press the input button on the TV remote to switch between the Vaddio Station, AirMedia, HDMI Wall Plate, and VGA Wall Plate.
  3. To power off the TV, press the power button again.

1.) TV (Sharp)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Press the power button on the TV remote to turn the TV on.
  2. Press the input button on the TV remote to switch between the Vaddio Station, AirMedia, and the Wall Plate input.
  3. To power off the TV, press the power button again.

 

2.) AirMedia (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Press the power button on the TV remote to turn the TV on.

  3. If you are using a Mac and wish to present with audio, you will need to download SoundFlower. Instructions can be found here. Please note, this is not necessary for PC users.
  4. Using your web browser, navigate to the URL shown on the upper left of the display (http://Belk116.elon.edu ). You will see download links for both Mac and PC.

  5. After the download has completed, double click the Crestron AirMedia logo as seen below. You may be asked to confirm the installation; click Allow.

  6. You will be asked for the Code, which is displayed on the upper right of the display.

  7. Your screen should now be displayed on the TV. To stop sharing, press the Stop icon in the Crestron AirMedia control window.

3.) Conferencing Station (Vaddio)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Press the power button on the TV remote to turn the TV on.

  2. Press the input button on the TV remote to switch to the Vaddio (HDMI 2) input.

  3. Turn on the Vaddio Station by tapping the green power icon (Shown as number 4 on diagram). (The green LED will illuminate to indicate system is powered on.)

  4. To make a phone call, dial the number, followed by the green phone icon (number 2 on diagram). You will need to dial an 8 first for outbound calls. To stop the phone call, press the red phone icon (number 3 on diagram). (This unit's phone number is 1-336-278-7711.)
  5. To adjust the volume, tap the volume up and volume down icons on the right of the station (number 7 on diagram). You can also tap the mute icon at the bottom of the station to mute the mic.
  6. To make a video call (Skype, Webex, etc), connect the USB and HDMI or VGA cables to your computer. Detailed instructions for different applications are shown below.
  7. To switch between HDMI and VGA, tap the different buttons at the top of the unit (number 9 on diagram).

4.) Wall Plate (Extron)

  1. Press the power button on the TV remote to turn the TV on.

  2. If you are using a VGA cable, connect it to the VGA/Computer input on the wall plate, as well as connecting the 3.5mm audio cable to the Audio input on the wall plate. Select VGA Wall (Input 8) on the TV, then connect the VGA cable to your laptop.

  3. If you are using an HDMI cable, connect it to the HDMI input on the wall plate, and select input HDMI Wall (HDMI 3) on the TV. Then connect the HDMI cable to your laptop.

HDMI and VGA Cables can be found in the box in the corner of the room. You may need to use an adapter to connect to your laptop.

Additional Room Features

Basic Instructions for Webex

Click here to login to Webex.

  1. If you are using Google Chrome, and do not have the Webex plugin yet, you may install it. Alternatively, you have the option of running an executable application, as shown on the bottom of the window.

  2. Once you're logged in, you will see the screen shown below.

  3. To start a meeting, click on the green button that says, "Start a Meeting."
  4. To invite others to your meeting you can either click the invite button at the top right of the screen shown below.

  5. To ensure the room camera is selected, click the video camera icon next to your name, and select Vaddio STATION from the list.

  6. Click the Connect to audio button, and make sure the speaker settings are set to "Vaddio STATION" and the microphone settings are set to "Vaddio STATION."

  7. Verify audio is working and audible in the room by clicking the "Test" button.
  8. You can increase or decrease the volume of the speakers by sliding the white dot to the right or left.
  9. Once you have the settings to your likings, click the Ok button to apply them.
  10. You can invite people once the meeting has started by clicking the invite & remind button in the photo below.

  11. A small video panel will appear above your name and the video button next to your name will be blue. At any point if you want to turn off your video, just click the video button again.
  12. Note that typically, the person you're calling will be on the bigger screen and your video is displayed on smaller panel below the bigger one. If at any point you would wish to change that, double-click on the smaller panel and it should switch the videos' display.
  13. To end the call, exit full screen view by either pressing the escape button on the key board or by clicking the "Return" button on the top right of the screen.
  14. Once you are back on the screen that looks like the one below, click on the button that says "End Meeting" on the left side of the screen.

Basic Instructions for Skype

Launch the Skype for Business application, and log in with your Elon credentials.

  1. You will need to configure your video client to use the Vaddio Station. In Skype for Business, navigate to Preferences, then the Audio/Video tab, and select Vaddio STATION as the device you would like to use as shown below.

  2. To start a call, select one of your contacts and click the video camera icon. This will now use the room camera and microphone for your video call.

  3. To end a call, click the red phone icon.
