Located on the third floor of Carlton, this space operates as a classroom that can seat up to 23 people. This classroom includes a desktop computer, an overhead projector, and a touch panel controlling the entire room.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  4. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, VGA, Composite, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
      Laptop/Device inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  5. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the start menu in the bottom left side of the desktop screen, then select the power icon, and either click Log Off or Shut Down.

1.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. To power the desktop computer off, click the start menu in the bottom left side of the desktop screen, then select the power icon, and either click Log Off or Shut Down.

 

2.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input.
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

VGA Instructions

  1. Tap on the CMPTR button on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the VGA cord.
  3. Connect your device to the audio system by using the Audio cord for the VGA
  4. Ensure that your device is on.

DVD Instructions

  1. DVD can be played with the Sony player located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.

VCR Instructions

  1. VCR can be played with the Sony player located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.
  2. Insert your VCR into the player.
  3. Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display VCR controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the VCR player.

CD Instructions

  1. CD can be played from the Sony DVD Player, located on the top of the equipment rack in the work station
  2. Insert into the tray.
  3. Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display CD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.

AUX Instructions

  1. Other devices can be connected via the composite input.
  2. Tap on AUX tab on the control panel.

  3. The touch panel will display the AUX device options.
      You need to bring your own connection for the alternative device that is going to be used.

 

3.) Web Camera (Avaya)

4.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
      Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

    Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1)Electrical 2) Ethernet, 3) Audio cord for VGA, 4) Composite input, and 5) VGA cord.
