Room Summary

   

 

 

Located on the third floor of Duke, this space operates as a classroom or student work area that can seat up to 15 people. This room includes a desktop computer, a projector, a printer, and a touch panel control.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, DVD).
    Laptop/Device inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the back left side of the computer monitor.
  4. Login with your Elon username and password.
  5. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left corner of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the bottom of the display window).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, DVD).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.

  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

Laptop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Laptop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using either the HDMI or VGA cable, and select the appropriate source.

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

DVD Instructions

  1. The Blu-Ray player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your disk into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the Blu-Ray player.

2.) Desktop Computer (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

 

3.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, Laptop, DVD).
         Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

 

4.) Printer (HP)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Log into one of the desktop computers in the room with your Elon username and password.
  2. Find the print button or press Command + P.
  3. Select this LaserJet printer from the printers dropdown menu.
  4. When you have finalized your printing options, select Print.

5.) Web Camera (Axis)

This room is equipped with an Axis 210a web camera to use with web conferencing. Please review the articles below for additional information.

Additional Room Features

  • Installed in the top of the instructor station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for 1) Electrical, 2) VGA, 3) HDMI, 4) AUX.

  • This room is equipped with two portabale whiteboards.
