Connect Classroom Technology to Microsoft Teams
Room Summary
This room is located on the first floor of KOBC and serves as a classroom/finance center with seating for 22 people. This classroom includes 2 projectors, a desktop computer, student computers, touch panel, Sharp TV, and student print station.
How to Use Room: Base Level Operations
- Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the top-right of the CPU (located on the top of the equipment rack).
- Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom-right side of the computer monitor.
- Login with your Elon username and password.
- Tap the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 15 seconds to warm up.
- Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
Laptop/Device inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
- Turn the system off by pressing the "System Off" button located on the top-right side of the touch screen control.
- To power the desktop computer off, click the "Shut Down" button (click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions
- Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 15 seconds to warm up.
- Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX)).
- Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
- To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
Desktop Instructions
- Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.
- Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.
VGA Instructions
- Tap on the VGA tab on the touch panel.
- Plug in your device using the VGA cord (3) and the audio connection for VGA (5).
- Ensure that your device is on.
DVD Instructions
- The DVD player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
- Insert your DVD into the player.
- Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
- The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
- Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.
VCR Instructions
- The VCR player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
- Insert your VCR into the player.
- Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
- The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
- Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.
CD Instructions
- The CDs can be played from the Dell CPU.
- Insert your CD into the player.
- Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
- The touch panel will display CD controller buttons.
- Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.
AUX Instructions
- Other devices can be connected via the composite input (2).
- Tap on AUX tab on the control panel.
- The touch panel will display the AUX device options.
You need to bring your own connection for the alternative device that is going to be used.
2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)
Basic Operating Instructions
- Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the top-right of the CPU (located on the top row of the equipment rack).
- Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom-right side of the computer monitor.
- Login with your Elon username and password.
- Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
- Select CMPTR tab on Crestron Control Panel.
- Select Desktop from CMPTR tab to display the desktop on the projector screen.
- To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.
- To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).
3.) Student Computer (Dell)
Every two seats are equipped with 2 Bloomberg computer monitors (1 computer) for use in the William Garrard Reed Finance Center.
Basic Operating Instructions
- Turn on computer by moving the computer mouse or by tapping the power button on the bottom-right side of both computer monitors.
- Login with your Elon username and password.
- To power the student computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).
4.) Projector (Panasonic)
Basic Operating Instructions
- Tap the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 15 seconds to warm up.
- Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
- Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top-right side of the touch screen control.
5.) TV (Sharp)
Basic Operating Instructions
- Press the POWER button on the top of the remote to turn on the TV.
- The Roku Home screen will then appear. All available applications (Philo, Netflix, Hulu, etc.) will then be seen to the right-hand side of the screen.
- To watch or use any of these specific applications, use the up, down, left, and right, arrows on your remote to select.
- To connect to available channels, select the Philo application and scroll up and down using the remote arrows to select a channel.
Additional Room Features
- Located in KOBC 144 is a print station.

- Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: Electrical (1), Composite for external devices (2), VGA (3), Ethernet (4), and Audio for VGA (5).
