This room is located on the second floor of Long. It is a classroom that can hold up to 35 students. It has a projector, a desktop computer, and a touch panel controller.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the bottom left side of the monitor.
  2. Turn on the touch panel controller by tapping the panel. It will take about 45 seconds to warm up.
  3. Log into the computer using your Elon username and password.
  4. Select your desired input using the touch panel controller (Desktop, Laptop, AirMedia, DVD, or Document Camera).
  5. Turn off the computer by clicking the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and then select the "Shut Down" option.
  6. Turn off the touch panel controller by tapping the power button located on the top right of the panel.

1.) Touch Panel Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch panel to turn on the system.
    The touch panel prompting you to tap the screen to turn on the system
  2. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  3. Use the touch panel control to select the desired input.
  4. To mute the displayed image or adjust the height of the screen, press the button on the right side of the touch panel screen with the projector icon. The touch panel on the image mute screen with options to move the projector up or down
    1. To turn the system off, press the power button located on the top right of the touch panel control.

  5. Select the "YES Shut Down System" button to turn off the system.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Select the "Desktop" option on the touch panel controller. The touch panel with the desktop tab selected
  2. Log into the desktop computer with your Elon username and password.

Laptop Instructions

  1. Select the "Laptop" option on the touch panel controller. The touch panel with the laptop tab active
  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord located in the middle of the desk.
  3. Ensure that your device is on.

 

AirMedia Instructions

 

  1. Select the AirMedia option on the touch panel controller. The touch panel with the AirMedia tab selected
  2. A screen similar to the one shown below will appear on the TV screens. A screen with instructions on connecting to AirMedia
  3. If you are using a Mac and require sound to be played through the room speakers, you will need to download SoundFlower. 
  4. Type the IP address shown in the bottom left corner of the displayed screen into a browser on your personal device.
  5. If you have not used AirMedia before in this room, download it by clicking on the respective buttons.
  6. Once the program opens, it will prompt you for a room code. This is the four digit code shown underneath the IP address on the displayed screen.
  7. Click on the "Connect" button, and your device's screen will appear on the projected screen.
  8. Use the functions within the AirMedia software to control your presentation.
  9. To stop presenting, click on the disconnect button.

DVD Instructions

  1. Select the "DVD" option on the touch panel controller. The touch pane with the DVD tab selected
  2. On the touch panel controller, there will be a DVD remote controller displayed, as shown above.
  3. Put your DVD in the DVD player located in the rack below the desk.
  4. Use the buttons of the controller to control the DVD player.

Document Camera Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Select Doc Cam on the touch screen control.

  3. Document camera is ready for use.
  4. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.

2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).


3.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch panel to turn on the system. It should take about 45 seconds to warm up and turn on.
  2. Use the touch panel to select the desired input.
  3. To turn off the system, press the power button on the top right of the touch panel.
