Located on the second floor of McEwen, this room serves as a computer classroom with seating available for 25 people. This classroom includes an overhead projector, a printer, and a touch panel controlling the entire room.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Laptop/Device inputs are built into the top of the work station.
  3. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right of the MAC
    The desktop computer in the room is the default computer.
  4. Login with your Elon username and password.
  5. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button from the Apple drop down menu on the computer.

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.

  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

HDMI Instructions

  1. Tap on the HDMI tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord (5).

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

VGA Instructions

  1. Tap on the VGA tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the VGA cord (4) and the audio connection for VGA (3).

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

Air Media

  1. Select one of the "AirMedia" options on the touch panel controller.
  2. A screen similar to the one shown below will appear on the TV screens.
  3. If you are using a Mac and require sound to be played through the room speakers.
  4. Go the URL displayed at the top of the screen, it will take you to a page that looks similar to the one below.
  5. If you have not used AirMedia before, download it by clicking on the respective buttons.
  6. Once you have downloaded it, locate the file in your download folder and open it.
  7. A small screen will appear on your device with an input box.
  8. Type in the Room Code that is projected at the bottom left of the screen into the input box on your device.
  9. Click on the "Connect" button, and your device's screen will appear on the projected screen.
  10. To stop presenting, click on the stop button.

Additional AirMedia Instructions

  1. To display three different AirMedia sources on to three separate screens, start by clicking the "Breakout" button at the top of the touch panel.
  2. Each TV will display an AirMedia screen with unique AirMedia URL and room code.
  3. Connect the three desired input devices to each AirMedia by following the AirMedia instructions above.
  4. To return to all screens presenting the same input device click on the "Present" button at the top of the touch panel.

Blu-Ray Instructions

  1. The Blu-Ray player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your Blu-Ray into the player.
  3. Tap on the Blu-Ray tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display Blu-Ray controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the Blu-Ray player.

Document Camera Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Select Doc Cam on the touch screen control.

  3. Document camera is ready for use.
  4. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.

AUX Instructions

  1. Other devices can be connected via the composite input (2).

  2. Tap on AUX tab on the control panel.

  3. The touch panel will display the AUX device options.
    You need to bring your own connection for the alternative device that is going to be used.

2.) Desktop Computer (Mac)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the bottom left of the CPU.
  2. If the computer is already on, click any button to turn off Sleep Mode.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  5. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  6. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button from the drop down menu on the computer.

3.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

4.) Printer (HP Laserjet)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Select HP_Printer_on_Pharos01.
  2. Send document to print.
  3. Enter Elon username.
  4. Swipe Phoenix card at the print station to print document.

4.) Student Desktop Computer (Mac)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom left of the MAC
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1) Electrical, 2) VGA, 3) Audio for VGA, 4) Composite for external devices, 5) HDMI, and 6) Ethernet.
