This room is a lab on the second floor of McMichael. It can hold 30 students. This room must remain locked unless in use by a professor while conducting class. The equipment in this room is highly specialized and must be used under instructed supervision or with special permission.

How to Use: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  2. Log in with your Elon username and password.
  3. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Tap the touch panel to turn the system on. It will take a minute for the system to start up.
  2. Select the desired source input from the options at the bottom of the touch screen: Desktop, Laptop, AirMedia, DVD, or Document Camera. 
  3. Adjust the volume using the arrows and mute buttons on the right side of the touch screen.
  4. Turn the projector on and off, mute the screen image, and adjust the projector screen height by pressing the button with the projector icon on the right side of the screen. 
  5. Turn off the system by pressing the power button on the top right corner of the touch screen. Press Yes to confirm. 

Desktop Instructions

  1. Turn on the desktop computer by pressing the power button, located in the bottom right corner of the monitor.
  2. Select the Desktop source tab at the bottom of the touch panel screen. 
  3. Log in to the desktop computer with your Elon username and password.

Laptop Instructions

  1. Select the Laptop source tab at the bottom of the touch panel screen. 
  2. Using the HDMI cord on the instructors stand, plug in your personal device.
  3. Ensure your device is on.

AirMedia Instructions

  1. Select the AirMedia tab on the bottom of the touch panel screen. 
     
  2. A screen similar to the one shown below will be projected. 
     
  3. Type the URL displayed at the bottom of the screen into a browser on your personal device.
  4. If you have not used AirMedia before, you will have to download the necessary software. The website will provide instructions.                                                                           
  5. Once the software opens, it will prompt you for a room code. 
  6. Type in the Room Code that is projected at the bottom left of the screen into the input box on your device.
  7. Click on the "Connect" button, and your device's screen will appear on the projected screen.
  8. To stop presenting, click on the disconnect button.

DVD Instructions

  1. Select the DVD source tab at the bottom of the touch panel screen. 
  2. On the touch panel controller, there will be a DVD remote controller displayed, as shown above.
  3. Put your DVD in the DVD player located in the rack below the desk.
  4. Use the buttons on the touch screen controller to control the DVD player.

Document Camera Instructions

  1. Select the Document Camera source tab at the bottom of the touch panel screen. 
  2. Fully open the drawer on the right side of the instructor station to access the document camera.
  3. Document camera is ready for use.
  4. Use the touch screen to adjust the zoom, freeze the image, and turn on/off the light.

 

2.) Desktop (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right corner of the computer monitor.
  2. Log in with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

 

3.) Web Camera (Vaddio)

Basic Operating Instructions

This room is equipped with a Vaddio RoboShot web camera to us with web conferencing. Please review the articles below for additional information.

4.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, HDMI, VGA, DVD, VCR, CD, Composite, and AUX).
      Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

 

5.) Document Camera

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Select the document camera on the touch screen control.
  3. Document camera is ready for use.
  4. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.
  5. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control or select another input to use.
