How to Use Room: Base Level Operations
- Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the back left side of the computer monitor.
- Login with your Elon username and password.
- Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
- Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, VGA, DVD, VCR, CD, Doc Cam, and AUX).
Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
- Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
- To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)
Basic Operating Instructions
- Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
- Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, VGA, HDMI, DVD, VCR, CD, and Doc Cam).
- Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
- To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
Desktop Instructions
- Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.
- Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.
VGA Instructions
- Tap on the VGA button on the touch panel.
- Plug in your device using the VGA cord (4) and the audio connection for VGA (5).
- Ensure that your device is on.
HDMI Instructions
- Tap on the HDMI button on the touch panel.
- Plug in your device using the HDMI cord (2).
- Ensure that your device is on.
DVD Instructions
- The DVD player (JVC) is located in the middle of the cabinet beneath the computer.
- Insert your DVD into the player.
- Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
- The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
- Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.
VCR Instructions
- The VCR player (JVC) is located in the middle of the cabinet beneath the computer.
- Insert your VCR into the player.
- Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
- The touch panel will display VCR controller buttons.
- Use the buttons displayed to control the VCR player.
CD Instructions
- The CDs can be played from the DVD player.
- Insert your CD into the player.
- Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
- The touch panel will display CD controller buttons.
- Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.
Document Camera Instructions
- Select the "Doc Cam" tab.
- Document camera is ready for use.
- Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.
2.) Desktop (Apple)
Basic Operating Instructions

- Document camera is ready for use.

7.) Student Print Station (Canon)

- Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1) Electrical, 2) HDMI, 3) Ethernet, 4) VGA, and 5) Audio for VGA.
