Monitor and Dock Station Troubleshooting

Often after a power outage, one or more monitors will not come on. There is a specific order of unplugging and plugging back in that will resolve the issue. Attempt the following steps. If they don't work, contact the Technology Service Desk.

  1. Unplug the computer from the Dell docking station
  2. Unplug the power supply from the back of the Dell docking station
  3. Wait 10 seconds
  4. Plug the power back in on the Dell docking station
  5. Plug the Dell docking station back into the computer

No reboot is necessary and it should work right away.

This will also affect some monitor display positioning issues, like a screen that's off-centered.
