Located on the first floor of the Center for the Arts, this room serves as a classroom for piano lessons/practice room with 16 pianos and seating for 14 students.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the *bottom-left* of back side of the monitor.
  2. Turn on the touch panel controller by tapping the screen. It will take about 30 seconds to warm up.
  3. Log into the computer using your Elon username and password.
  4. Select your desired input using the touch panel controller (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, CD, Document Camera, Turntable/Cassette).
  5. Turn off the computer by clicking the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and then select the "Shut Down" option.
  6. Turn off the touch panel controller by touching the power button located on the *top-right* of the panel.

​​​​​​1) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPTR, DVD, CD, Document Camera).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
     

DVD Instructions

  1. The Sony DVD player is located on the equipment rack.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.
     

 

CD Instructions

  1. The CDs can be played with the Sony player located on the equipment rack.
  2. Insert your CD into the player.
  3. Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display CD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.
     

Document Camera Instructions

  1. Select Doc Cam on the touch screen control.
     
  2. Document camera is ready for use.
  3. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.

2) Desktop computer (Mac)

 

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the bottom-left of the back of the monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the screen, and then select "Shut Down" from the drop-down menu.

3) Projector (NEC)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, DocCam, Turntable, Cassette).
    • Computer inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the *top-right* corner of the touch screen.

4) Document camera (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. To turn on the document camera, turn the power switch on the *left side* to the "on" position.
  2. Touch the Crestron touch panel to turn on the projector system, then select the "DocCam" tab to display the document on the screen.
  3. Use the controls on the front of the document camera to control zoom and width.
  4. To turn off the document camera, turn the power switch on the *left side* to the "off" position.

5) Web Camera

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for 1.) Electrical, 2.) Composite for external devices, 3.) Audio for VGA, 4.) Ethernet, and 5.) VGA.
