McKinnon Hall is an auditorium located in the Moseley Student Center. It can be used as one big room for large events, or it can be divided into three separate rooms for smaller functions. Each partition has its own projection system and lighting controls. The amount of people that can fit in the room will vary depending on the configuration of the space.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Use the lighting panel on the right side of the door to light the room. It can be configured to fit different room needs.
  2. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the top-left of the CPU (located on the top of the equipment rack).
  3. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom-right side of the computer monitor.
  4. Login with your Elon username and password.
  5. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 15 seconds to warm up.
  6. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPT, DVD).
      Laptop/Device inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  7. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top-right side of the touch screen control.
  8. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

1) Desktop (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the top-right of the CPU (located on the top row of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom-right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 15 seconds to warm up.
  5. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  6. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

2) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Tap the touch panel to turn on the system.
  2. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  3. Select the input that you want to display through the projector.
  4. To turn the system off, press the power button located on the top right corner of the touch panel control.
  5. Select the "YES Shut Down System" button to turn off the system.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

HDMI Instructions

  1. Tap on the HDMI tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord.

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

VGA Instructions

  1. Tap on the VGA tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the VGA cord and the VGA Audio cord for sound.

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

DVD Instructions

  1. The DVD player is located in the equipment rack beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.

3) Projector (Canon)

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the projector.
  2. Touch the touch screen control to mute the projector.
  3. Turn the projector off by pressing the System Off button on the top right side of the touch screen control.

4) Projector Screen (DaLite)
