Search the IT Knowledge Base

The IT Knowledge Base offers quick access to articles designed to provide "how-to" steps and helpful answers to commonly asked questions about technology at Elon. If you are unable to find what you are looking for or still need help, please submit a ticket. Below is an overview of how to access and search the IT Knowledge Base.

Access

  1. Navigate to the IT Self-Service Portal.
  2. Sign in with your Elon credentials from the top right corner.
    • You are now on the "Home" tab of the portal.
  3. Select the "Knowledge Base" tab or the "Knowledge Base" button under Quick Links.

Search

Search Bar and Filter

  1. Locate the search bar at the top right corner of the portal. Be sure to sign in for full access.
  2. Click on the globe icon to the left of the search bar.
  3. From the options, select "Knowledge Base" to filter the Service Catalog out of your search results.
  4. Enter your keywords in the search bar and click the magnifying glass or hit Enter.
  5. Scroll through the results to find the appropriate article or try again with another keyword search.

Search by Category

  1. Navigate to the IT Self-Service Portal.
  2. Sign in with your Elon credentials from the top right corner.
    • You are now on the "Home" tab of the portal.
  3. Select the "Knowledge Base" tab or the "Knowledge Base" button under Quick Links.
  4. Click on a Category to view articles on that topic. Each subcategory will become more specific by topic.
    • You may also use the "Search this Category" search bar to find articles within the category you are in.

Tip: Check out the "Popular Articles" list for quick access to commonly viewed articles.
