Hypothesis is a collaborative annotation tool that is available inside Moodle. Hypothesis facilitates online discussions around websites and PDFs. Collaborative annotation is an effective methodology that increases student participation, expands reading comprehension, and builds critical-thinking skills and community in class. Annotating together makes reading visible, active, and social, enabling students to engage with their texts, teachers, ideas, and each other in deeper, more meaningful ways.
You can add Hypothesis to your Moodle course by following these directions.
Important note: Hypothesis in Moodle works with most webpages and publicly available PDFs. If a PDF is not publicly available, you'll need to download a copy of it and save it to a Google Drive or OneDrive folder.
