Continuation of Email Usage
Retirees retain access to their Elon email, To-Do, and calendar via a web browser. Please note that if you have downloaded the Office suite to your personal computer, access will expire 30 days after the last date of employment. (Moodle and campus wireless access are not available to retirees)
- Retirees will continue to receive Announcements@elon.edu emails.
- Technology Service Desk can assist with transferring files and ownership to departmental data prior to your last day of employment.
Please Note: Microsofts's offerings are subject to change without notice. Elon University cannot guarantee continued compatibility or access to applications provided through third-party subscriptions.
Elon IT recommends maintaining a separate email account for personal usage. Retention of Elon branded email after retirement is provided as a courtesy to our Faculty and Staff and is subject to change at any time.
Contact the Technology Service Desk if you require assistance managing your online account or if you have further questions. For your security, the Service Desk communicates account-related information either in person or by phone 336-278-5200.
Campus Technologies will never ask you for your password in an email.
If you receive an email message asking you to verify account information or to take action to avoid loss of email service, delete the email. These messages are merely an attempt to lure you into revealing personal information to identity thieves. NEVER respond to messages asking you for your email password or email your password to anyone! Any legitimate communication from Information Technology regarding email accounts will be delivered through multiple channels including Today at Elon and campus mail. All legitimate messages will also include a campus telephone number (usually 278-5200) that you may call to verify the authenticity of the message.
