Located on the second floor of McEwen, this room serves as a computer classroom with seating available for 19 people. This classroom includes an overhead projector, a color printer, and a touch panel controlling the entire room.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Computer, Blu-Ray).
    Laptop/Device inputs are built into the top of the work station.
  3. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the front of the CPU underneath the desk.
  4. To turn on the monitor, press the button on the bottom right.
    The desktop computer in the room is the default computer.
  5. Login with your Elon username and password.
  6. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button from the Apple drop down menu on the computer.

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, CD, Doc Cam, and AUX)).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.

  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

Computer Instructions

  1. Tap on the Computer tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

Blu-Ray Instructions

  1. Tap on the Blu-Ray tab.
  2. Insert your disc into the player (located under the instructor workstation).

  3. Operate the player using the buttons on the touch panel.

 

2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the bottom left of the CPU.
  2. If already on, click any button to turn off Sleep Mode.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  5. Select Desktop from Computer to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  6. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button from the drop down menu on the computer.

4.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Computer, Blu-Ray).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top-right side of the touch screen control.

 

5.) Student Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom right of the monitor.
    1. If needed, press the power button on the desktop tower in the top left corner.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Turn the system off by going into the start menu, found in the bottom left corner of the screen, then click the power button, and select shut down.

Additional Room Features

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1) Electrical, 2) HDMI 3) Aux, 4) Ethernet, and 5) VGA.
