Located on the second floor of McEwen, this room serves as a computer classroom with seating available for 25 people. This classroom includes an overhead projector, a printer, a Xerox machine, and a touch panel controlling the entire room.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Laptop/Device inputs are built into the top of the work station.
  3. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the top right of the CPU (located on the top of the equipment rack).
    The desktop computer in the room is the default computer.
  4. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  5. Login with your Elon username and password.
  6. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.

  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

VGA Instructions

  1. Tap on the VGA tab on the touch panel.

  2. Plug in your device using the VGA cord (5) and the audio connection for VGA (3).

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

DVD Instructions

  1. The DVD player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.

VCR Instructions

  1. The VCR player is located in the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your VCR into the player.
  3. Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display VCR controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the VCR player.

CD Instructions

  1. The CDs can be played from the Dell CPU.
  2. Insert your CD into the player.
  3. Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display CD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.

AUX Instructions

  1. Other devices can be connected via the composite input (4).

  2. Tap on AUX tab on the control panel.

  3. The touch panel will display the AUX device options.
    You need to bring your own connection for the alternative device that is going to be used.

2.) Desktop Computer (MAC)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the top left of the CPU (located at the top of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of both computer monitors.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  5. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  6. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom leftside of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

3.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

4.) Xerox Machine

  1. To use the Xerox Machine first download the Universal Xerox Driver and follow the instructions by clicking here .
    To use the upgraded Print Management Systems you MUST have a Phoenix Card handy.
  2. Once driver is installed, print normally and select Xerox-Devices on PHAROS01 as the printer.

  • Located in McEwen 209 is a printing station.

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Select HP_Printer_on_Pharos01.
  2. Send document to print.
  3. Enter Elon username.
  4. Swipe Phoenix card at the print station to print document.

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for Electrical (1), Ethernet (2), Audio for VGA (3), Composite for external devices (4), and VGA (5).
