Located on the first floor of McMichael, this room serves as a laboratory classroom with seating available for 22 students. This classroom includes a projector system, touch panel, 2 desktop computers, and a document camera.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Computer, DVD, VCR, CD, DocCam, and AUX).
    • Laptop/Device inputs are built into the top of the work station.
  3. To turn on the computer system, first press the power button on the right-side of the CPU (located on the top of the equipment rack).
  4. Turn on the monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom-right corner of the monitor.
  5. Login with your Elon username and password.
  6. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top-right side of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, then select "Shut Down" from the display menu.

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input.
    1. Computer inputs (VGA and HDMI) are built into the top of the work station.

    2. DVD can be played with the Sony player located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.

    3. VCR can be played with the Sony player located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.

    4. CD can be played from the CPU. Insert the disc into the CD tray (CPU located on the top of the equipment rack in the work station).

    5. Document camera can be viewed by selecting the "DocCam" tab on the touch screen control.

    6. Other devices can be connected via the AUX cord.

    7. To mute the screen image, press "Image Mute," located on the top-left of the touch screen.
  3. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.

2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the top-left of the CPU (located to the left of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom-right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the projector system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  5. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  6. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, then select "Shut Down" from the display menu.

3.) Desktop Computer (Gateway)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on computer system by pressing the power button on the center of the Dell CPU.
  2. To turn on the computer monitor, press the power button located on the bottom-right corner of the monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. To power the computer off, click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, then select "Shut Down" from the display menu.

4.) Document Camera (WolfVision)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Select the document camera on the touch screen control.
  2. Document camera is ready for use.
  3. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.
  4. To turn the system off, press the off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control or select another input to use.

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1.) Electrical, 2.) Composite, 3.) Auxiliary, 4.) Ethernet, and 5.) VGA.
