Room Summary

 

 

 

This room is located in Oaks Commons, also known as McCory Commons. It is on the second floor of the building and can be used for large meetings, speakers, or presentations.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Touch the screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input.
  3. Turn on the desktop by pressing the power button on the right hand side of the monitor as well as the power button on the CPU in the equipment rack.
  4. Log in with your Elon username and password.

1.) Touch Panel Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Tap the touch panel to turn on the system.

  2. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  3. Select the input that you want the projector to display by choosing one of the tabs at the bottom of the touch screen.

  4. To mute the screen, select "Image Mute."

  5. To manually turn on and off the projector as well as adjust the projector screen height, press the displays button. 
  6. To turn the system off, press the power button located on the top right corner of the touch panel control.
  7. Select the "YES Shut Down System" button to turn off the system.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.

  2. Turn on the Desktop computer by pressing the power button on both the monitor and CPU in the equipment rack.
  3. Log in with your Elon username and password.

HDMI Instructions

  1. Tap on the Laptop tab on the touch panel and select HDMI.

  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord (2).

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

VGA Instructions

  1. Tap on the Laptop tab on the touch panel and select VGA.

  2. Plug in your device using the VGA cord (3) and audio for VGA (5).

  3. Ensure that your device is on.

AirMedia Instructions

  1. Tap on the AirMedia tab. Crestron panel with airmedia input selected
  2. A screen will be projected similar to the one pictured below. 
  3. Look for the IP address on either the bottom left corner of the touchscreen or on the bottom left corner of the projected screen. Enter this IP address into a browser on your personal device.
    1. If you have not used AirMedia before, the website will guide you through downloading the necessary software.
  4. The AirMedia program will open and prompt you for a room code. This four digit code can be found next to the IP address on the touch screen or below the IP address on the projected screen.
  5. Once connected, control your presentation using the functions in the program.
  6. To end your presentation, press disconnect.

DVD Instructions

  1. Turn on the DVD player by pressing the switch on the left hand side. The DVD player is located in the equipment rack. Photo of the DVD player highlighting the power button on the left hand side of the device
  2. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.

  3. The touch panel will display DVD control buttons, use these to control the DVD player.
  4. Eject the DVD manually by pressing the button on the right side of the DVD player.

Roku Instructions

  1. Select the Roku tab on the touch screen control.

  2. Use the arrows and buttons on the screen to control the Roku system and access Philo TV.

Microphone Instructions

  1. Press the "Microphones" button on the top left corner

  2. You will then be taken to the microphone control page.
  3. Use these controls to adjust wired, wireless, and ceiling microphone volumes.

 

2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Instructions

  1. Turn on the desktop by pressing the power button on the right hand side of the monitor as well as the power button on the CPU in the equipment rack.
  2. Log in with your Elon username and password.
  3. Turn on the touch panel control system. Select the desktop input tab.
  4. To turn off the computer, click the Shut Down button by clicking on the settings option in the lower-left hand corner, then selecting "Log off" or "Shut down."

 

3.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.


4.) Web Camera (Avaya)

This room is equipped with an Avaya HC020 web camera to use with web conferencing. Please review the articles below for additional information.

5.) Wireless Charging Station (Belkin)

Located at the top if the Instructor's station there is a Belkin wireless charging station. To use simply place a wireless chargeable device on the top of the charging point.

Additional Room Features

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1) Electrical, 2) HDMI, 3) VGA, 4) Ethernet, and 5) Audio (for VGA or independent audio).

  • There is also an Apple audio converter that can be attached to the audio cord.
  • Oaks Commons 212 includes a podium to stand microphones on for student use.
