Why do my documents keep printing in color when I set it to Black & White from my computer?

  • This happens when using the Canon print driver. By default, student Canon print drivers use "Auto" as the default color setting. This means that the printer picks up if it is a color document or black and white by default. You must manually select "Black & White" from the Options button on the printing device and set it manually.
  • Workaround: Use the mobile print option by emailing studentprint@elon.edu.

Why do my documents keep printing only on one side when I selected duplex from my computer?

  • This happens when using the Canon print driver. By default, student Canon print drivers are configured to simplex (single-sided printing). Even if you manually set this on your computer, you MUST set duplex printing from the Options button on the printing device.
  • Workaround: Use the mobile print option by emailing studentprint@elon.edu.
