This space is the area used by Elon Polls to conduct research on various topics. Here, student workers can call participants while being managed by a faculty member sitting at the front of the room. Up to 30 students and 1 supervisor can be conducting polls in the room at once.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button located on the bottom of the right side of the monitor.
  2. Turn on the touch panel controller by tapping the panel. It will take about 50 seconds to warm up.
  3. Log into the computer using your Elon username and password.
  4. Select your desired input using the touch panel controller (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, Blu-Ray, CD, Aux).
  5. Turn off the computer by clicking the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner of the screen and then select the "Shut Down" option.
  6. Turn off the touch panel controller by tapping the power button located on the top-right of the panel.

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 50 seconds to warm up.

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (CMPTR, DVD, VCR, Blu-Ray, CD, or Aux). Computer inputs (VGA) are built into the top of the Instructor work station.
    1. Display automatically connects to the Desktop.

    2. DVD can be played with the Sony player located at the top of the equipment rack in the work station.

    3. While the control panel says that VCR is an option, the VCR does not actually connect.
    4. Blu-Ray DVDs can be played using the Blu-Ray player in the middle of the equipment rack of the work station.

    5. CD can be played from the Sony player located at the top of the equipment rack in the work station.

    6. While there is an AUX cord option on the Control Panel, there is not an AUX Cord in the cable cubby.
    7. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top-left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.

  3. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

2.) Desktop Computer (Dell)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the bottom-right side of the computer monitor.
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. Touch the touch screen control (Crestron) to turn on the system. The system will take 50 seconds to warm up.
  4. Select Desktop from CMPTR to display the desktop on the projector screen.
  5. To power the system off, press the System Off button located on the top-right of the touch screen control.
  6. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Windows button on the bottom-left side of the desktop, the Shut Down button is located to the right of the display window).

 

3.) Web Camera (Avaya)

4.) Projector (Canon)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch panel to turn on the system. It should take about 50 seconds to warm up and turn on.
  2. Use the touch panel to select the desired input.
  3. To turn off the system, press the power button on the top right of the touch panel.

Cable cubby

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1.) HDMI, 2.) Composite, and 3.) Electrical.
