Submit a Ticket from the Portal

Information Technology offers a variety of services and support to faculty, staff, and students. Some of these services include email, supporting physical hardware/computer equipment, access to applications such as Colleague, OnTrack, or SharePoint, and many more. For a complete list of services, click Services A-Z. Most of our services may be requested by submitting a ticket online through our IT Self-Service Portal.

To escalate your request directly to the team responsible, we recommend that you locate the service or type of request you want and submit a ticket from the corresponding service page.

How do I Search the IT Service Catalog?

You can search the Service Catalog by drilling down into the category your issue falls into or by using the search bar at the top of the page.

Locate a Service Using Categories

Technology services are grouped by category. Below are examples of how to locate common services.

  • From the Service Catalog homepage:
    • Moodle-related requests - Select the Instructional Technologies & Spaces category. Click on the Learning Management System subcategory. Then, select one of the available Moodle services.
    • Email related requests - Select the Communication & Collaboration category. Click on the Email, Calendaring, & Instant Messaging subcategory. Next, select the Email subcategory. Then, choose the type of request you want to submit.
    • Software-related requests - Select the Hardware, Software, & Printing category. Click the Software subcategory. Then, select the type of software request you want to submit.

Once you select a service or type of request, you can submit a ticket by choosing the "Submit a Request" or "Report an Issue" button on the right side of the page. Please note, you must be logged in using your Elon Account credentials to submit a ticket.

Locate a Service Using Keyword Search

To quickly locate services, use the search bar at the top of the IT Self-Service portal. Click the globe icon next to the search bar and select Service Catalog. This will ensure your search only includes IT Services. Keyword search examples:

  • Colleague-related requests - Filter your search to only the Service Catalog, type "Colleague" into the search bar, and press enter. Scroll the search results to find the service you want and select it. Follow the instructions for submitting a ticket from the service page.
  • Canon printers requests  Filter your search to only the Service Catalog, type "Canon" into the search bar, and press enter. Select the link for the type of request you want to submit and follow the instructions to submit a ticket.

*Hint: If you do not find what you were looking for, refine your keyword search to be more specific.

Submit a Ticket

Each service page will provide a description of the service and availability, as well as instructions for submitting a ticket. Usually, you will click the "Report an Issue" or "Submit a Request" button to submit a ticket.
