Submit a Ticket from the Portal

Finding the right service and submitting a ticket from the IT Self-Service Portal is one way to escalate your request directly to the team that will complete it. There are two steps to submitting a ticket: 

  1. Search for the service using the search bar or by category.
  2. Submit the ticket.

Search Options

  1. Locate the search bar at the top right corner of the portal. Be sure to sign in for full access.
  2. Click on the globe icon to the left of the search bar.
  3. From the options, select "Service Catalog" to filter the Knowledge Base out of your search results.
  4. Enter your keywords in the search bar and click the magnifying glass or hit Enter.
  5. Scroll through the results to find the appropriate service or try again with another keyword search.

Search by Category

  1. Navigate to the IT Self-Service Portal.
  2. Sign in with your Elon credentials from the top right corner.
    • You are now on the "Home" tab of the portal.
  3. Select the "Services" tab or the "Browse Services" button under Quick Links.
  4. Click on a Category to view services within that topic. Each subcategory will become more specific by topic. 

Tip: Check out the "Popular Services" list for quick access to commonly viewed services.


Each service page will provide a description of the service and availability, as well as instructions for submitting a ticket. If you are having trouble, something is wrong or broken, you should click the "Report an Issue" button to submit a ticket. Usually a request for a change, enhancement, or something new is a service request and you should click the "Submit a Request" button to submit a ticket.
