Located on the second floor of Schar Hall, this room serves as a computer classroom with seating available for 19 people. This classroom includes student computers, TV monitors mounted on the walls, an overhead projector, a student print station and a touch panel controlling the entire room.

How to Use Room: Base Level Operations

  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the middle of the CPU (located on the right side of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch panel control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  5. Use the touch panel control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
  6. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch panel control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Touch the touch panel to turn on the system.
  2. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  3. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input.
  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch panel control.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Under the Computer tab on the touch panel, click on the button that says, "Desktop".
  2. Make sure that the computer is on.

Laptop Instructions

  1. Under the Computer tab on the touch panel, click on the button that reads, "HDMI-LAPTOP".
  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord.
  3. Ensure that your device is turned on.

DVD Instructions

  1. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  2. The touch panel will display a DVD controller. Put your DVD in the DVD player.
  3. DVD can be played with the Sony player located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.

VCR Instructions

  1. Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
  2. The touch panel will display a VCR controller that will allow you to control the VCR player from the touch panel.
  3. VCR can be played with the Sony player located in the middle of the equipment rack in the work station.

CD Instructions

  1. Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
  2. The touch panel will display CD player controls that will allow you to control the CD player from the touch panel.
  3. CD can be played from the Dell CPU, insert into the CD tray (Dell CPU located on the top of the equipment rack in the work station).

2.) Desktop Computer (Apple)

  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor. 
  2. Login with your Elon username and password.
  3. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

 

3.) Web Camera (Avaya)

This room is equipped with an Avaya HC020 web camera to use with web conferencing. Please review the articles below for additional information.

4.) Student Computer (Apple)

5.) Projector (Canon)

  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, DVD, VCR, CD, and AUX).
      Computer inputs are built into the table top of the instructor station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
