Mute a Call

Use one of the following processes to mute the call:

  • Press the MUTE button.
  • To end the mute feature, press the MUTE button again.

Place a Call on Hold

  1. Press the Hold soft key.
  2. To return to the call, press the Resume soft key.

Tip: If multiple calls are on hold, Scroll with the arrows to select the desired call before you press the Resume key.

Transfer a Call

To transfer a call to another telephone:

  1. Press the Transfer soft key, which places the call on hold.
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call.
  3. When the number rings, press Transfer again; or when the party answers announce the call and then press Transfer.
  4. Hang up if the call is accepted.

 

Note: If the party refuses to accept the call, return to the original call by pressing the Resume soft key.

Transfer a Call Directly to a Voice Mailbox

  1. # Press the Transfer soft key, which places the call on hold.
  2. Press the * and Dial the extension to which you want to transfer the call.
  3. When the voicemail box answers, press Transfer again.

Call Forwarding

Note: Calls cannot be forwarded to long-distance numbers.

  1. Press the CFwdAll soft key.
  2. When the beep tone is heard, enter the number to which you wish to forward.
    • Forwarding to Voicemail: Press the * and Dial the extension to which you want to transfer the call.
    • Forwarding to on-campus extension: Dial the 4-digit extension.
    • Forwarding to off-campus number: Dial 8  - area code - phone number.
  3. When finished, verify Forwarded to xxxxxxxx is displayed above the LCD screen.

To cancel call forwarding:

  • Press the CFwdAll soft key.

Place a Conference Call

  1. During a call, press the more option and then you should choose the Confrn soft key. (This allows you to place the party on hold while you contact others.)
  2. Place a call to another number to include others on the conference call.
  3. When the call connects, press Confrn again to add the other party to the conference call.

Notes:

  1. To place a conference call on hold - Press Hold.
    • The other parties cannot talk among themselves.
    • To avoid disrupting the other callers, consider muting the call instead.
      • To mute the call - Press Mute.
  2. To place a conference call on the speakerphone - press Speaker.
    • Press the Mute button to mute the speakerphone. The conference parties cannot hear you but you can hear them.

Voicemail

Click the "Show" checkbox to expand or hide the section.

Set Up Your Voice Mailbox - First Time Use Only

To set up your voice mailbox for the first time:

  1. Press the Message button on the left-hand side of the phone.
  2. Enter the default password 12345 followed by the # key.
  3. Follow the instructions given to record your personal greeting and create your new password.

If the default password does not work, contact the Technology Service Desk.

You can reset the recorded name for the voice mailbox by reading these instructions.

Access Voicemail

To access voice mail from On-Campus:

  1. Press the Messages button.
  2. Enter your password followed by the # key.

To access voice mail from Off-Campus:

  1. Dial (336) 278-4790.
  2. When the system answers, immediately press the * key.
  3. Dial your extension, then press # key.
  4. Enter your Password followed, then press # key.
  5. Follow the prompts given by the system to retrieve your messages.

 

Set Up a Temporary Greeting (Out of Office, Alternate, Holiday, Special Hours)

  1. Log in to your voicemail box.
    • If on-campus press Messages.
    • Enter current password, followed by # key.
    • If off-campus dial 336-278-4790
      • Dial * , 4-digit extension, # key.
      • Enter current password, followed by # key.
  2. Press 4 for setup options.
  3. Press 1 to change your greetings.
  4. Press 3 to edit other greetings.
  5. Press 3 to access alternate greetings.
  6. Follow automated instructions to record your alternate greeting.
  7. Press 3 to turn on alternate greeting, then set expiration day and time.

Reset Voicemail Password

  1. Log in to your voicemail box.
    • Tap the Messages key (if on-campus) and enter the current password, followed by the # key.
    • If off-campus dial 336-278-4790.
  2. Dial * , 4-digit extension, # key.
  3. Enter current password, followed by the # key.
  4. Press 4 for more options.
  5. Press 3 for personal options.
  6. Press 1 for password resets.
